Illinois 55, Wichita State 54

Illinois fans tend to be unhappy about a game like this.  Here are a few reasons not to be:

• Confidence boost for a struggling player:  Brian Randle made two free throws.
• Confidence boost for a struggling player:  Warren Carter
• All unranked teams are not equal.  The reason we have a top 25 is because the mainstream press can only cover about 25 teams.  But is easy to forget that there are over 300 D-1 teams.  The #26 team is a LOT better than the number #260 team, but they are both "unranked".  Later in the year when the RPI is more meaningful, check out Wichita State.  This team is no slouch.
• We won.
