Illinois 90, South Dakota State 65

  • Starters: King James, Randle, Pruitt, McBride and Dee
  • Randle still hasn't had a big game yet.
  • Rich shot the ball very well today.
  • Too many turnovers for Dee (6)
  • Too many turnovers for the whole team (20)
  • Brock did fairly well with the few minutes he got.
  • Still not impressed with Arnold.
  • The opponent played well, all things considered.  This school converted to Division I only in the last few years.  They have no seniors on their roster.
  • Bruce is definitely fiddling with the lineups, trying to figure out works.  For a little while, he had both Dee and Chester on the floor at the same time.  Don't expect him to ever have them both on the bench at the same time.
  • SDSU had both their big men in foul trouble.  Illinois enjoyed a big size advantage for most of the game.
  • Considering our coach says we are a team that has trouble finding ways to score, 90 points isn't too bad.
